For a century, Broadway has brought America’s Revolutionary era to the stage, with each generation reimagining the nation’s founding through the politics and values of its own time. In this lecture-recital, musicologist Dr. Elissa Harbert will explore the production, reception, and political messages of these musicals, while soprano Dr. Janani Sridhar and DePauw University students will perform selections from the works.
